Putting Yourself FIRST This Christmas

Hello my friends!

I know that many of you cringe at the thought of putting yourself first.  It seems to be a cultural value/virtue to put ourselves last.  While on the surface this may sound noble if we look deeper into this mindset it can lead us into dangerous territory and invite the following:

-High stress
-Poor nutrition
-Poor sleep
-Lowered self esteem (always trying to keep up…a futile effort)
-Ego distortion (I am only worth IF I put myself last and burn myself out serving others)
-Self comparison
-Excuse making (I don’t have time for_______)

The list could go on and on.  The simple fact of the matter is that we have this order BACKWARDS!  The moment that you put yourself first is the very moment in which you allow yourself to genuinely serve and love others optimally.  Think about it…how can you be the best wife, husband, partner, dad, mom, uncle ect if you have not first taken care of yourself?  How can you extent true love if you are stressed to the brim?  How can you give what you do not possess yourself?  This seemingly paradoxical wisdom is what sets those apart that enjoy and live life from those that foster inner resentment and burnout.

During this holiday season I challenge you to give yourself the give of YOU!  I can assure you that when you put yourself FIRST you will thereby enhance your ability to love and serve others.

I want to personally wish you all a Merry Christmas and say THANK YOU for everything!  I appreciate the opportunity of serving you and I hope you have gained something positive from me the past year whether it be as a member of Lifelong Fitness, a student of one of my classes, or as a coaching client.  It is my honor and my privilege to serve you.  I love all of you and I thank you for the opportunity to learn from you on a daily basis.  I am blessed to have you in my life and I hope to be able to return the favor in 2017.

Merry Christmas my friends and always remember…Life is Good!

Griff
