Hello, my friends!
Hello, hello! I hope you are having an amazing day! I want to ask you a personal question. Do you feel that our modern-day diet is leading us collectively to the land of health, happiness, and wellness? After going to college and learning about nutrition, I graduated feeling like it was a “complicated science.” I was really into macronutrient ratios, RDAs, RDIs, etc. In short, I made it much more complex than it needed to be. Fast-forward eight years when I enrolled into holistic schooling. It took no longer than 2 weeks for me to see that nutrition is inherently simple, so simple a caveman can do it! In fact, that is my new litmus test: If a caveman could eat a certain food, then it is probably okay!
Below, you will find a link to the Weston A. Price Foundation dietary guidelines. I want you to look at this simple list and then ask yourself if our modern dietary practices even come close. I hope this exercise is as much of an eye opener for you as it was for me when I was first asked to do it in holistic school. After you read the guidelines, let me know if you think that eating whole natural foods is too costly/time consuming as the vast majority of Americans claim. I would love to hear your personal insights.
Enjoy this exercise, my friends, and I hope it offers you a different (and more healthy) perspective on nutrition.
