Hello my friends!
I am very excited to announce the publishing of my first book, Exorcising Your Excuses! It is currently being edited and will be available for the holidays. I am grateful for the opportunity to share with you my holistic approach to health and wellness.
Today I wanted to speak to you about the basic premise of the book and how it relates to your life. As human beings we all have ego’s (some bigger and some smaller) that define who we are and help us navigate this life effectively. The “ego” is not necessarily a bad thing UNTIL it begins to convince you (through excuse making) that you are not capable of achieving the goals and desires of your heart. We ALL fall prey to this at one time or another…which is fine. What is not fine is when we allow our excuses to define who we are. When we allow this to happen we begin to think of our personal excuses as part of our personal make-up. We begin to tell ourselves, “its just who I am!”
Have you ever been guilty of being defined by any of the following?
“I don’t have time for”______________(fill in the blank with any of your goals and dreams that are inconvenient in the moment)
“I don’t have the support of my family (or any other important person in your life) so it makes it very difficult for me to succeed”
“I am too old”
“I am too old”
“Nobody wants to hear what I have to say”
“Life never gives me a break”
“I am not creative enough”
“I am not smart enough”
What excuses are your personal favorite? What are your go-to’s? How have you defined yourself? Again, this is NOT to make you feel guilty but rather to help you understand that excuse making is more prevalent than we may realize and they have the ability to suck us dry. Wayne Dyer said it best, “excuses are nothing more than on option out of the life that you would like to live”. Amen!
My call to action today is to CALL YOURSELF OUT! It is time for all of us to stop the self-coddling of excuse making and turn to the part of us that is unlimited and capable of ANYTHING that we desire in our hearts. What to get more fit…then DO IT! Want to start a new business? Want to be a better parent? Then DO IT! I know this may seem overly simplified but I can assure you that this little exercise of calling yourself out on your excuses is the first step to positive change.
I would love to hear what you are calling yourself out on! Please let me know because I am anxious to cheer you on! Like I always say….
“Never excuse away your inner greatness and always remember….life is good!”
